Machine Operator (Concetti Operator)Location: Turlock, CA - Full/Part-Time: Full-timeRegular/Temporary: Regular - FLSA Status: Hourly (Non-Exempt)Shift: Day/Swings/Nights - Salary Range: $22.00 to $25.50 per hour.Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Machine Operator is responsible for choosing the lineup based on tank availability for Mill Operators and Yard Mixers and the Sackfeed list provided by the Warehouse Lead. The Operator is responsible for keeping the machine running, monitoring for quality (sewing, weight, bag count), checking for accuracy based on order (tags, ZLABELS, empty bag), and entering information in the Concetti Computer Log.Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:Utilize computer programmed batching system to receive and manufacture feedAssist in the completion of minor maintenance work in order to maintain production until a permanent fix can be put into place by maintenance personnelMaintain required documentation associated with all departmentsInspect and unplug chutes; inspect rolls for proper gap and lubrication; driers for proper set up and performanceAfter appropriate training, operate all process equipment including powered industrial vehiclesPerform mill operation duties relating to the conveyance, conditioning, rolling/grinding, pelleting, mixing, and loadout of materialsAssist in start-up and shut down of operationsAssist in the troubleshooting of processes and equipment operation and provide in-put for corrective actionsPerform general housekeeping of production area to meet OSHA standards, as well as a clean and safe working environmentClimb ladders up to 100 feet to perform maintenance and inventory dutiesPerform quality test such as moisture samples, particle size sieve testing and PDIsFIFO (First in First out) procedures must always be followed.All products that run through the Concetti must have a retain sample taken.Monthly Assay samples must be taken in addition to regular retain samples.Bags must be weighed on the check scale to ensure accuracy throughout each run. One bag per ton minimum.All bags must be properly sewn before being entered into inventory.The number of bags entered in SAP must accurately match the number of bags sacked.Operators must complete their daily assigned cleaning before the end of their shift.The Concetti Computer Log must be filled out completely and accurately.Any issues with feed quality must be documented and set aside for further investigation.Out of Tolerance Forms must be filled out and given to the operator responsible prior to beginning the next run.A complete walk around must be done after each run to ensure no bags fell off. This could make the final inventory count inaccurate if not performed.Batch selecting and batch splitting procedures must be followed to ensure accuracy and inventory control.Daily Cleaning Log responsibilities must be completed before the end of shift.Flushing and sequencing practices must always be followed.Perform other duties and/or special projects as assignedSkills & Competencies:Methods and techniques for safe work practicesForklift operation and heavy machinery experience desiredBasic recordkeeping practicesAbility to:Work in confined spaces and at high elevationsPerform daily safety inspections and identify safety hazardsWork flexibly and varying work schedules, overtime as neededPerform basic mathematical problems (add, subtract, multiply, divide)Work independently with minimal supervisionBuild and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers and customersFollow written and verbal instructions; problem solveCommunicate effectively in English (verbal/written)Complete written work orders legibly and keep records to coordinate feed schedulesContribute to a positive work environmentDemonstrate good organization skillsMinimum Job Requirements, Experience and Training Guidelines:High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent work experienceOne (1) to two (2) years' work experience in a warehouse/industrial/production environmentAbility to lift/carry up to 75 pounds up to 100 feet (e.g., sack feed bag)Previous feed/agricultural experience desiredBasic computer skillsWork varying shifts including weekends, holidays and overtimeSpecial Demands Physical requirements:Frequent standing for long period of timeFrequent bending, squatting and kneelingFrequent lifting and carrying of up to 75 pounds up to 100 feetFrequent grasping, holding and reachingConstant use of overall visionFrequent hearing and talking in person; may be required to wear ear protection or hear in noisy conditionsFrequent co-worker contact; occasional working aloneFrequent exposure to loud noiseWorking conditions:Work may be performed inside or outside in hot and cool temperatures and a noisy environment. May be exposure to loud noises and steam exhaust, and dusty, muddy and slick environment.
