Job description
General Production Machine Operator (1st Shift)This role focuses on operating and supporting a variety of manufacturing machines in a fast-paced, small-team environment. You will inspect and handle small fastener parts, perform basic machine set-ups and changeovers, and assist with packaging and cross-department tasks. The position is on 1st shift, with a typical schedule of 6:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and may occasionally start at 5:00 a.m. depending on production needs, with some optional Saturday work. We are looking for individuals to interview and start as soon as possible. We offer weekly pay with overtime paying time and a half.ResponsibilitiesOperate and monitor multiple production machines, including loading and unloading small parts such as screws and bolts.Inspect parts for quality defects and ensure products meet established standards before packaging.Run up to two machines at the same time, adjusting to production demands while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.Assist with machine troubleshooting, including basic adjustments to maintain smooth operation.Support machine set-ups and changeovers, including changing pumps and preparing equipment for new production runs.Work with epoxy and sealant materials, applying sealant to fasteners as part of the production process.Use hand tools to loosen, adjust, and secure machine components during set-ups and routine tasks.Hand-feed parts into machines and place finished or processed parts into boxes for packaging and shipment.Sort, count, and package parts in a repetitive workflow while maintaining focus and consistency.Lift and move items weighing up to 40 pounds throughout the shift as needed.Remain standing at a workstation for extended periods to support continuous production activities.Cross-train in other departments and assist wherever needed in a small, collaborative team environment.Essential SkillsAt least 1 year of machine operator experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting.Ability to lift up to 40 pounds safely and repeatedly during the workday.Experience using hand tools to set up machines and perform changeovers.Comfort working in an industrial manufacturing environment with multiple loud machines running simultaneously.Willingness to work some Saturdays from approximately 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. when needed.Flexibility to start the shift at 5:00 a.m. when production requirements call for an earlier start.Attention to detail for quality inspection of small parts and fasteners.Basic mechanical aptitude for operating, adjusting, and supporting production machinery.Reliability and consistency in following established processes and safety procedures.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience performing machine changeovers is preferred but not required.Experience working in a fast-paced environment where thousands of parts are produced is preferred.Comfort working with adhesives, sealants, and epoxy in a production setting.Ability to adapt to repetitive tasks while maintaining accuracy and focus.Steel toe boots required as part of standard industrial safety attire.Why Work Here?Employees join a close-knit, family-oriented organization where long tenure is common and people feel genuinely valued. You will work on specialized machinery used to coat and process fasteners, in an environment that can be very loud when multiple machines are running and where the smell of adhesive and epoxy may be strong. Headphones are allowed, but you must remain at your station and stay attentive to your machine. The workspace is not temperature controlled, so conditions can be hot in the summer; cold drinks such as water and sports beverages are provided during hotter periods to support comfort. The position involves standing for most of the shift, performing repetitive tasks at a fixed workstation, and occasionally working at a seated station for certain machine operations. Standard industrial safety attire, including steel toe boots, is required.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Twinsburg, OH.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
