Machine Operator (Winder)Eaton's ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Machine Operator (Winder) at our Oakleys Ct site in Richmond, VA. The hourly rate for this position is $23.80 per hour. This site is currently offering a $2,000 sign-on bonus for eligible new hires on 2nd and 3rd shifts. The specific shift, work schedule, and any applicable shift differential will be confirmed when an offer of employment is extended. Candidates should indicate all shifts they are willing and able to work during the interview process.Why work at Eaton?Health benefits and vacation timePaid holidaysCareer progression opportunities to cross-train in different departmentsOvertime opportunitiesRetirement benefitsPaid Parental LeaveEducational Assistance Program, Wellness Reimbursement, and more!What You'll Do:This position will be responsible for winding coils or hot working transformer assemblies used in electrical equipment and instruments or as electronic components, according to wiring diagrams, sample coil, transformer, or work order, using coil-winding machines and welding and brazing equipment: Reviews wiring diagrams and work order or examines sample to ascertain type and size of wire specified, and type, size, length, circumference, and primary and secondary windings of coil to be wound or accurately builds transformer sub-assemblies and assemblies to customer specifications. In this function you will:Wind standard coils for dry type transformers or hook-up/hot work transformers to meet production demandsInspect product quality and installation to ensure conformance to production quality standards related to coil dimension, bus bar location, etc.Maintain a minimum of 80% of productivity time standardsAdhere to company regulations, including adherence to policies regarding safety, attendance and punctualityInterpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics and blueprintsKeep all work areas clean, organized and presentableComply with all applicable U.S. export control and security regulationsQualifications:Required (Basic) Qualifications:High School diploma or GED from an accredited institutionMust be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the futureNo relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the work location will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.Preferred Qualifications:Forklift operator certification (can be trained on-site)Minimum 3 years of experience in related field preferredMinimum of 6 months soldering/brazing/welding experience OR a completed welding certificate from an accredited institution or equivalent high school trades courseMinimum 1-year Previous Machine Operation experienceSkills:Position Criteria:Ability to lift 50 poundsAbility to stand for extended periods of time.
