Machine OperatorLocation: Essex, CTSchedule: Mon - FriCompensation: $18/hrDepartment: OperationsReports to (job title): Production ManagerMain Responsibilities/AuthorityProcess partsMain TasksOperates roller marking machine, backs up setups as neededOperates power presses & metal forming machinesOperates copper & aluminum cutoff saws, power presses, and drill/tap machines.Backs up machinists and other operators as needed.Cross trains in other areas to improve skill set and reduce company vulnerabilities.Performs first piece and in-process inspection – works with Quality Dept.Brings parts to wash room.Performs machine maintenance and upkeep.Serves as a member of the operations team, supporting coworkers, acting as a technical resource, and offering ideas for improvement.Job Requirementsa) Education and experienceMachining backgroundMechanical aptitudeb) Personal skills/attributesAbility to handle multiple priorities at the same timeAccuracyAlert and focused
