Machine Set-Up TechThe Machine Set-Up Tech ensures machinery is set up, works properly, and conforms with company quality, quantity, and efficiency standards. Essential functions include setting up and operating tools, machinery, and equipment according to instructions and specifications. The role involves selecting, placing, and securing tools, as well as placing and securing work pieces in proper machine tables, holding devices, or other appropriate surfaces using clamps and wrenches. The Machine Set-Up Tech observes each machine to verify quality performance, sets and adjusts necessary controls to regulate machine performance, and inspects tooling, repairing or replacing as needed. They determine whether machinery is working properly based on specifications for expectations such as fixtures, cutting speeds, or feed rates. Reporting issues or problems to the immediate supervisor, acting as a department communicator during status meetings, management updates, and shift changes, maintaining equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety, ensuring work is done safely, consistently, and meets quality standards, identifying, tagging, and removing non-conforming materials, accurately completing all required paperwork in a timely manner, communicating with other departments as necessary, keeping work areas clean and organized, adhering to all company rules and policies, and performing other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
