Job description
MachinistWe're looking for an experienced machinist to join our high-volume machine shop. In this role, you'll set up and run CNC machines, perform quality inspections, move materials, and support a variety of machining operations. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working on different machines and solving problems throughout the production process.What You'll DoPerform machining operations such as cutting, drilling, grinding, boring, reaming, and deburring.Load raw materials and unload finished parts.Move materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment.Complete quality inspections using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measuring tools.Read blueprints, work instructions, and control plans.Verify dimensions and tolerances to ensure parts meet specifications.Troubleshoot production and quality issues.Operate support equipment such as wash tanks.Assist on different machines and work areas as production needs change.Required QualificationsManufacturing or machine shop experience.Experience operating production machinery; CNC experience preferred.Ability to use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.Basic math skills and ability to work with tolerances.Experience operating forklifts.Ability to read and interpret gauges and measurements accurately.Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Flexible and willing to work on different machines as needed.Commitment to safety and quality standards.Shifts and Pay Available1st shift: 7:30am - 3:30pm (Monday - Friday) // $24.472nd shift: 3:30pm - 11:30pm (Monday - Friday) // $25.333rd shift: 11:30pm - 7:30am (Sunday - Thursday) // $25.33Alternate Work Schedule (N1): M, T, W (7pm - 7am) // $25.33Alternate Work Schedule (N2): Th, F, Sa (7pm - 7am) // $25.33Alternate Work Schedule (D1): M, T, W M, T, W (7pm - 7am) // $24.47Alternate Work Schedule (D2): Th, F, Sa (7pm - 7am) // $24.47Work EnvironmentLarge, temperature-controlled manufacturing facility.Clean, organized, and safety-focused workplace.Overtime available as needed.Casual dress code (jeans, work pants, t-shirts, sweatshirts, and hats allowed).Required PPE: Steel or composite toe shoesSafety glasses (provided)Hearing protection (provided)Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lafayette, IN.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.47 - $24.47/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
