Michelin is hiring! We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Tire Test Engineer to join our team. You will be responsible for industrializing and qualifying test methods on various measurement systems, ensuring the quality of test results, and maintaining the measurement system portfolio. This role involves collaboration with multiple departments to achieve project goals and improve customer engagement.

Situated in Greenville, South Carolina, the sprawling Michelin Americas Research Center (MARC) campus is home to approximately 650 talented employees, including materials researchers, product designers, scientists, engineers, test technicians and individuals in a variety of support roles.

What you will do.

Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with internal and external teams to accomplish projects and serve as the project lead when necessary.

Support Operational Activities: Support key operational indicators through working with local operations and maintenance teams.

Customer Support: Analyze customer requirements with Performance Engineers to support method creation or evolution and study the impact of customer complaints and non-conformities to implement corrective actions.

Technical Expertise: Understand test method equipment specifications, functionality, procedures, and be able to perform tests and solve problems with measurement equipment.

Safety and Compliance: Respond immediately to environmental or safety violations, enhance environmental risk control, and improve general safety and ergonomics.

Investment Proposals: Propose capital investments to test methods and lead capital projects.

Tire Components: Understand tire mechanics related to assigned test methods and associated tire performances, including the relationship between test parameters and results.

Test Equipment Management: Ensure the conformity of test equipment with the requirements of the tire test protocols catalog and manage associated investments to improve the responsible test methods.

Quality Assurance: Guarantee the quality of test results for all assigned test methods and establish a robust measurement system portfolio.

Project Management : Complete assigned projects for process and method improvement.

Technical Responsibility: Assume technical responsibility for assigned test methods and testing equipment.

Method Development: Industrialize and qualify test methods on given measurement systems, including facilitating, designing and analyzing Measurement System Analyses (MSAs).

Statistical Methods: Use statistical process control to monitor and guarantee quality of testing methods.

Regulatory Testing: Ensure all activities performed for regulatory testing comply with applicable regional standards.

What you will bring

* BS or equivalent experience in Engineering - Mechanical, Electrical, or related technical field.

* Success in working with other people or teams both internal and external to meet a common objective with minimal supervision.

* Effective problem-solving skills to analyze, find the root cause, and implement solutions to eliminate/reduce the risk of the problem happening again.

* Experience with process validation and/or project management is highly regarded.

* Proven experience in test engineering, preferably in the tire/automobile industry.

* Strong understanding of measurement systems and test methods.

* Strong communication skills

* Knowledge of ISO 17025 Laboratory Management Standard is a plus.
