MACHINE TOOL ELECTRICIAN

About the Role:

The Machine Tool Electrician is responsible for assembling, wiring, troubleshooting, debugging, and installing machine tooling and electrical equipment used in automotive assembly operations. This role builds electrical panels and machine tooling according to electrical schematics and works closely with Controls Engineers to communicate hardware requirements, implement engineering changes, and resolve system issues.

What You Need to Be Successful:

3+ years of experience as a Machine Tool Electrician or in a similar electrical field.

Ability to fluently read and interpret electrical schematics.

Experience assembling and wiring electrical panels and machine tooling.

Experience working with low-voltage wiring and 110V-480V electrical systems.

Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for electrical circuits, components, and equipment.

Experience using electrical test equipment, including digital multimeters, thermocouples, and programmable power supplies.

Skilled in the assembly, repair, installation, and debugging machine tooling and equipment.

Proficiency using common hand and power tools.

Strong organizational skills and attention to technical detail.

Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical information to team members and customers.

Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and meet project deadlines.

Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Ability to follow safety procedures, use required PPE and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Bonus Points If You Have: Automotive industry experience.

Experience working directly with Controls Engineers on hardware requirements and engineering changes.

Experience with machine tool prototypes and new equipment installations.

Experience performing root cause analysis and electrical system debugging.

Experience contributing to continuous improvement and productivity initiatives.

Experience interfacing with customers and vendors.

Experience with quality management systems and technical build documentation.

Experience maintaining shop inventory and electrical components.

Education: Associate's degree in Electrical Technology, Electronic Technology, or a related field is preferred.
