Job description
Machining OperationsThis position requires a person to perform simple to moderately complex setups and operate manual/CNC equipment to manufacture medical components from raw material in a team-based environment. The employee must comply with all governing rules, including Smith & Nephew policies and procedures, and adhere to workplace safety and cleanliness practices. This position works under minimal supervision.Shift: Saturday, Sunday, Monday from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm Monday-Friday.What will you be doing?Machining OperationsSet up and operate CNC and manual machining equipment including turning, milling, grinding, drilling, tapping, EDM, and honingRun multiple machines simultaneouslyParticipate in product and process improvementsUse inspection equipment to verify product qualityPrepare materials and work ordersRead blueprints, establish tool offsets, and replace worn toolingDocumentation and ComplianceComplete required records and documentationFollow company policies, quality procedures, FDA/QSR requirements, and other applicable regulationsPerform labor transactions and barcode scanningParticipate in team-based continuous improvement activitiesSafety and HousekeepingMaintain equipment as requiredKeep the work area clean and organizedFollow health, safety, environmental, and job hazard requirementsPerform other related duties as assignedWhat will you need to be successful?Education: High School Diploma or equivalentExperience: Minimum of 1-2 years CNC experience requiredCertifications: Completed certification in multiple manufacturing areasPhysical: Must stand for extended periods; lift up to 25 lbsYou Unlimited.We believe in creating the greatest good for society. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role at Smith + Nephew. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
