Machining Tech IV, Press- 2nd ShiftHowmet Fastening Systems (HFS) is seeking a Machining Tech IV, Press- 2nd Shift at our aerospace manufacturing facility in Fullerton, CA. This position sets up and operates or sets up for other operators all types and sizes of forming presses (60 to 700 ton).Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssembles and adjusts die set by selecting proper tooling and tests to assure proper clearance.Sets up according to work order and layouts to insure proper form configuration.Uses precision measuring instruments and reads blueprints to check parts for conformance to specifications.Operates machines to ensure proper functioning and releases to and instructs operators in procedures for producing parts in conformance with specifications.Performs other related tasks in departments to which assigned such as: Assembling, drilling, deburring, sorting, counting, etching, stamping, recording of parts processed and housekeepingReads blueprints and has knowledge to use micrometers, calipers, comparators, thread gauges, depth micrometers and dial indicators as needed.S.P.C. charting as requiredAssist factory supervision and leaders in the training of machine operators.Parts to be lifted and/or transported may weigh up to 30 lbs.Keeps work area clean, safe and in an orderly fashion on a daily basis.Performs other tasks of equal or lesser skill as required.Basic Qualifications:Minimum of 3-5 years' experience operating machineryPrevious experience with Aida, Maypress, National, ClearingAbility to use inspection gages and instrumentsAbility to read and understand manufacturers drawings, prints, catalogs, and other written or verbal instructions.Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.
