Job description
MachinistWe are looking for a skilled Machinist to join our Materials Testing team. In this role, you will manufacture precision test specimens and components from a wide variety of metallic and engineering materials.You will operate CNC and conventional machining equipment and work closely with laboratory technicians, engineers, and metallurgists to produce specimens that meet exact dimensional, geometric, and surface-finish requirements.This is an excellent opportunity for a machinist who enjoys precision work, problem solving, and working with advanced materials and wants to apply their skills in a laboratory environment supporting some of the world's most demanding industries.Salary: $25- $30/hr + $1 shift differential DOEHours: Monday - Friday: 2:00pm-10:00pmResponsibilitiesWhat You'll Do:Operate machining equipment and prep specimens for aerospace testingMaintain machinery and perform preventative upkeepRecord dimensions and ensure quality standardsCollaborate with Machinists and Managers to keep operations running smoothlySkills / QualificationsHS diploma/GED (college or vocational coursework a plus)2+ years in a machine shop or machining experienceStrong safety mindset and basic math/computer skillsPhysical Demands:Frequency of required physical force: ModerateLifting requirements: lifting 50 lbs. on occasionAbility to stand on feet for long periods of timeAbility to lift 50+lbs periodicallyCompany OverviewElement is one of the fastest growing testing, inspection and certification businesses in the world.
