CNC Programmer 2nd ShiftApplied Composites (AC) is seeking a CNC Programmer 2nd Shift who is responsible for the managing, programming and maintenance of computer numeric controlled (CNC) equipment for prototype (first run) and production of composite parts within the facility.Come and join the Applied Composites team. If you are looking for a company that values and develops its employees while offering engaging work, Applied Composites may be the place for you.Job Accountabilities:Review electronic or written blueprints or specifications for a jobReview and obtain proper toolingProgram extremely close tolerance partsCNC program in Mastercam (2020) 3, 4, and 5 axis geometry, proving out programs prior to machining, machining of parts and tools through CNC machining on 3-axis vertical mills, Large Capacity 5-axis CNC Router, 2 axis lathe and manual machiningWork with operators, program managers, engineers to determine project scope, schedule and important job detailsDetermine methods, tooling, feeds, speeds and all other necessary requirements necessary for manufacturing of partsMachine composite materials including carbon, fiberglass, honeycomb, and othersDirect or train other employees in machine setup, running, maintenance and cleaningBe able to lift parts weighing up to 50lbsOn occasion, you may be asked to work irregular hours to accommodate manufacturing schedulesKeep program managers informed of operations, problems, and opportunities as they ariseMaintain appropriate records and documentationAssist in the development of a safe working environment through the use of occupational safety and health standards, including ergonomic principlesOther responsibilities as assignedRegular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessaryOther responsibilities as assignedJob Specifications: Education:A Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations Years' Experience: 5-7 years of CNC programming experience (lathes, multi-axis horizontal and vertical mills) Skills:Prior experience with MasterCAM programmingProgramming 3, 4 and 5 axis Mill & 2 axis Turn equipmentMust have strong GD&T knowledge to interpret engineering drawings from sketches, determine cutting or grinding tools to be used, method of holding, and machine speeds and feedsVaried CNC operating experience desirableMust have worked in CNC programming demonstrating a high degree of proficiencyExperience machining a variety of materials.Proficient with Microsoft Office products including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, and OutlookSolid understanding of manufacturing processes for layup, trim, and assembly of composite hardwarePrevious experience working in a fast-paced production environment with high quality requirements; example military, aerospace or medical equipment highly preferredAbility to read and interpret company documents, such as safety rules, operating/manufacturing instructions, policies and proceduresAbility to read/interpret engineering drawings and specificationsAble to perform basic mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)Ability to identify composite damagesProven track record of supporting stringent deadlines and handling multiple priorities simultaneouslyGood manual dexterity required to work with small partsSkilled problem-solver: Exercises judgment, based on previous experience, practices and precedents, to identify and solve problems that arise with little or no precedentEffective oral and written communicationBenefits: At Applied Composites, we recognize how important your career and benefits are to you and your family.
