Job description
MachinistHourly Rate: $24.75To operate machining tools to produce metal parts and components that meet precise specifications for Research & Development (R&D) and ProductionResponsibilities/DutiesProgram and safely operate CNC Machining Centers, Water Jet, Press Brake, Tube Bending and other machinesPerform preventative maintenance on CNC equipmentOperator manual milling machine with tight tolerances precisionEfficiently fabricate and modify parts to print specificationReview drawings, instructions, blueprints or samples to ensure accurate productionTake precise measurements for cutting or shapingProperly assemble and weld prototypes to blueprint or drawing specificationsSelect appropriate machine and settings for each taskInspect finished parts and components for flaws or defectsCross train in other functions of the Machine Shop as necessaryEnsure all safety and security rules are strictly observed and any accidents, incidents or injuries are promptly reported to managementComplete the annual CTPAT Security TrainingFocus on continuous improvement, and consistently demonstrate good business judgmentWork effectively with all Pride departments to exceed internal and external expectationsAssist with organization and cleaning of work area, keeping aisles and walkways clear at all timesPride retains the discretion to modify duties and/or assign other duties as necessaryRequired SkillsMust be a team player, friendly, detail-oriented, and honest Must have the ability to:Multi-task, problem-solve, and prioritize in a fast-paced working environmentWork within tolerance as specified by drawings, prints or verbal instructionWork with precision tools and measuring devices including micrometers, calipers, and height gagesRead and comprehend work instructions and printsUse hand tools and standard power toolsSet up and operate milling machines, lathes, grinders, press brakes, shears, and drill pressesBe cross trained for multiple jobs within assigned work area(s)Lift/push/pull 50lbsMust have:Relentless drive to achieve advancement and continuous improvementA willingness to learn and/or adapt to new work methodsExcellent math skillsGood verbal and written communication skillsBasic knowledge of sheet metal fabricationBasic knowledge of Press Brake operationPreferred SkillsBasic knowledge of programming CNC Machining Centers both visually and offline preferredBasic knowledge and understanding of TIG and MIG Welding preferredRequired ExperienceAt least 1 year of experience as a machinist operating machine tools such as milling machines, lathes, grinders, press brakes, shears, and/or drill pressesPreferred ExperienceAt least 3 years as a machinist operating machine tools such as milling machines, lathes, grinders, press brakes, shears, and drill presses preferredAt least 1 year of experience tube bending and performing CNC Operations preferredAt least 1 year of welding experience including the use of MIG, TIG, and aluminum preferredAt least 1 year of experience with CAD or 3D Modeling design preferredAt least 1 year of experience programming CNC Machines preferredCurrent or previous successful employment experience with Pride Mobility Products Corporation preferredRequired EducationHigh School Diploma or GEDPreferred EducationTechnical school training in CNC programming or machining preferredRequired QualificationsMust be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now, or in the futureDetailsThis job description is not intended to be all-inclusiveThis is a safety sensitive positionIn exceptional circumstances, some of the physical requirements of this position may be modified or eliminated as a reasonable accommodation for a person with a disability as defined by the Americans with Disabilities ActPride Mobility Products®/Quantum Rehab® is an Equal Opportunity employer.
