Machinist, Borger RefineryLocation: Borger, TX, US, 79007 Job Field: Maintenance Phillips 66 & YOU - Together we can fuel the future As a Machinist, Borger Refinery, you will play a key role in operating a wide variety of machining equipment with varying day-to-day work assignments. The starting hourly rate ranges from $40.03 to $50.49, depending on skills and experience. Employees have the opportunity to reach the top craft pay of $54.58 per hour within 48 months. This position requires the successful completion of an online assessment. Your assessment results will be valid for one year. Candidates who receive an offer of employment will then be required to successfully complete a pre-employment due diligence process including background check, hair follicle drug screen, medical, hearing, respiratory and vision exams, and agility testing.What You'll DoOperating lathes, drill presses, vices, and milling equipmentOperating pressure relief valve testing equipmentValve repairs including gate, plug, orbit, globe, check, and pressure relief valvesUsing precision measuring devices and reading blueprintsPerforming work activities that include pulling, lifting, twisting, working in confined spaces, and on elevated platforms requiring fall protectionEntering and retrieving computer data as well as data analysisUsing fire equipment when necessary along with many other general maintenance activitiesWhat You'll Bring – RequiredLegally authorized to work in the United States without restrictionsHigh School Diploma or GED equivalentCurrently hold (and able to maintain) a valid driver's licenseWilling and able to comply, with or without reasonable accommodation, with the following:Work at least an 8-hour rotating shift and up to a 12-hour rotating shift, which includes some weekends and holidaysWork overtimeWork in enclosed spaces, such as tanks and silosWork near large, hot, high-speed machinesClimb up to 250 feet in heightLift up to 50 poundsWork around chemicals, including acids and basesWear fire retardant clothing and personal protective equipment (such as steel-toe shoes, ear and eye protection)Maintain your face daily so that a respirator/face mask can seal properly (some examples include being free of facial hair and/or clean shaven)Perform firefighting dutiesWork outside in harsh weather conditionsWork with petroleum products that are under high pressure and high temperaturesRead technical procedures and materials in EnglishLearn computer software associated with process operationsWhat Makes You Stand Out – PreferredMachinist journeyman certification strongly preferredAssociate's Degree or higher from an accredited school2 years or more of Military experience that is metal working related2 years or more of experience working in a refinery, chemical, power, nuclear, wastewater treatment, or pharmaceutical industryStrong troubleshooting and problem solving skillsStrong oral/written communication skills and the ability to interact and work in a team environmentCompensation and Other Info: The starting hourly rate ranges from $40.03 to $50.49, depending on skills and experience. Employees have the opportunity to reach the top craft pay of $54.58 per hour within 48 months. Pay and future pay changes are determined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement. The anticipated start date for this position is December 2026. Relocation assistance is not available for this position. The Borger Refinery is located in Borger, Texas, in the Texas Panhandle, approximately 50 miles north of Amarillo, Texas. Refinery facilities include crude distilling, naphtha reforming, fluid catalytic cracking, alkylation, hydrodesulfurization and delayed coking units. The refinery processes primarily medium sour crude oil produced locally, and heavy sour crude oil produced in Canada, all of which are delivered by pipeline. Borger produces a high percentage of transportation fuels, as well as petroleum coke, NGLs and solvents. Refined products are distributed to customers via pipelines from the refinery to West Texas, New Mexico, Colorado and the Midcontinent region.Total Rewards At Phillips 66, providing access to high quality programs and care for you and your family is important to us.
