Job description
MachinistSet up and operate a CNC machine, or manual machine, to produce machined partsEssential Function:Set up and operate CNC or manual mill/latheVerify and adjust settings to ensure specificationsChange and adjust tools and insertsTroubleshoot problems and adjust to correctionProduce production parts as per specified requirementsUtilize proper speed and feed for maximum efficiencyDeburr parts as neededAdhere to business management system (BMS), as applicableAssist with any other duties as assignedBasic Requirements:Editing of CNC machine programs and settingsKnowledge of sheet metal materials and tubingGeneral knowledge of small hand tools, including tape measureUnderstand blueprints, process sheets, and other documentsUnderstand measurement and angle conversionsStrong computer, written/verbal communication skills, and math skills including fraction conversionsUtilize proper speed and feed for maximum efficiencyDeburr parts as neededIntermediate to advanced experience with micrometer, caliper, and other measuring devicesPhysical Exposure:Frequent standing, walking, kneeling, bending, crouching, and liftingFrequent lifting of up to 10 lbsOccasional lifting of up to 25 lbsOils/solvents on materialsSharp edges on parts or materialCoolant/cutting solventFork truck trafficThe above statements reflect the general details necessary to describe the principal functions of the occupation and shall not be construed as a detailed description of all the work requirements that may be inherent in the occupation.
