Job description

Job TitlePrimarily responsible for setting up, operating all machine shop equipment making tools and fixtures, working with different types of materials, and programming as required with the authority to carry out all assigned tasks.Essential duties and responsibilities:Perform quality work on conventional operated milling machines, lathes, and surface grinding machinesUse of Measuring and Test Equipment to ensure all dimensional requirements are metSelect, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials on machinesWork from and follow blueprints, diagrams, & written process instructionsWork with engineers, production personnel, and others to resolve issuesInspect and document machinery for any needed repairsMake minor repairs on machinery as neededAny other duties as required by the CompanyEnsure adherence to Safety Rules and RegulationsEnsure high levels of housekeeping are maintained within work areaEnsure work is carried out in accordance with QHSE policyCommitment to Company ValuesOther knowledge, skills, and abilities:Knowledge of Company's Policies & ProceduresKnowledge of HS&E policy and able to interpret HS&E warningsKnowledge and Skilled in computer software (MS Office, Word, Excel and internet navigation)Knowledge of machine shop equipment (CNC machines, lathes, mills EDM, etc.)Knowledge of machine shop theory, shop mathematics and layout techniquesSkilled in Oral and Written Communication (English)Skilled in the use of dimensional measuring equipmentSkilled in setting up, programming and operating machine shop equipment (CNC machines, lathes, mills, EDM, etc.)Ability to machine and measure to close tolerances (.0002") as requiredAbility to read complex blueprint specifications, charts, and follow work orders and engineering instructions as necessaryAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings in accordance with ASME Y14.5Ability to read and write the English language per FAA regulationsAbility to work in a team environmentAbility to problem solve repair/overhaul problemsAbility to work under limited supervisionAbility to multi-task and prioritize to meet company deadlinesAbility to focus on results, even when dealing with diverse, complex tasks for different jobs and projectsWork Schedule: This position is assigned to second shift, with regularly scheduled hours of 3:20 PM to 11:50 PM.Benefits:Medical, dental, and vision insurance with multiple plan optionsHealth Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) options401(k) Retirement Savings Plan with company match and potential discretionary employer contributionsPaid Time Off (PTO)Paid holidaysCompany-paid life insurance, AD&D insurance, short-term disability, and long-term disability coverageEmployee Assistance Program (EAP) and Travel Assistance servicesHealthy Rewards Program, including wellness reimbursement opportunitiesTuition assistance of up to $9,000 annually for eligible employeesVoluntary benefit optionsCareer development and advancement opportunities within a growing organizationBenefits are subject to eligibility requirements and applicable plan terms.Education / Experience Requirements: 2 - 4 years' experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. High school diploma, GED or equivalent. College or vocational high school education in machining and machining practices. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.Physical Demands and Work Environment:Requires sitting or standing for extended periods of time.Requires frequent walking, bending, stooping, climbing, and balancing.Requires occasional reaching above shoulder level, kneeling or squatting.Requires frequent lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling weight up to 50 pounds.Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity.Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.Regularly required to use hands and fingers.Works in moderate noise levels.
