Job description
MachinistThe Machinist produces complex machined components to support production, engineering, development, and prototyping activities, while also fabricating and repairing production tooling. This role requires expertise in CNC operation, machine setup and programming, and strong general machining skills to deliver high-quality, precise parts.ResponsibilitiesSet up, operate, and program a Doosan Vertical Machining Center to produce complex machined components.Set up and operate a variety of manual machine tools, including a knee mill with Prototrak control, drill presses, tapping heads, manual lathes, and surface grinders.Produce and assemble parts to support production, engineering, development, and prototype builds.Fabricate and repair production tooling to support ongoing manufacturing operations.Inspect completed work using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, drop dial indicators, and electronic height gages.Perform detailed hand work requiring manual dexterity, including hand tapping threads, polishing, and deburring of parts.Follow technical drawings and specifications to ensure parts meet dimensional and quality requirements.Maintain a clean and organized work area and handle equipment and tools with care.Work independently with minimal supervision while meeting production schedules and quality standards.Essential SkillsProven experience operating, setting up, and programming CNC equipment, specifically a Doosan Vertical Machining Center.Strong general machining skills with hands-on experience using manual machine tools such as knee mills with Prototrak control, drill presses, tapping heads, manual lathes, and surface grinders.Ability to read and understand technical drawings and blueprints.Strong attention to detail and personal initiative in a production environment.Working knowledge of SolidWorks for interpreting or supporting machining and tooling activities.Basic math skills to perform measurements, calculations, and dimensional checks.Ability to inspect parts using precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, drop dial indicators, and electronic height gages.Self-motivation and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.High school diploma or GED and/or 25 years of related machining experience and/or education in Machining Technology.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with assembly production environments.Hands-on experience with drill presses, tapping heads, manual lathes, grinders, and knee mills with Prototrak control.Exposure to working in smaller, close-knit teams within a manufacturing setting.Interest in learning additional departments and expanding skill sets across different machining and manufacturing processes.Why Work Here?The organization offers a stable and growth-oriented environment where employees can build long-term careers. The schedule follows a second-shift structure: Monday through Thursday from 2:45 pm to 12:00 am and Friday from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm, with a competitive shift differential provided. The dress code is casual, supporting a comfortable and practical shop-floor environment while maintaining a professional approach to safety and quality.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Manchester, NH.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
