Machinist MechanicPBF Energy Inc. is one of the largest independent refiners in North America, operating, through its subsidiaries, oil refineries and related facilities. We have an opportunity at our Martinez Refinery in California and are seeking a talented Machinist Mechanic to join our team as a pivotal member that would play a key role here at PBF Energy.The Machinist Mechanic Position Is Responsible For The Maintenance Of Process Equipment And MachineryThis includes Pumps, Compressors, Turbines, Gearboxes, Motors, Fans, Blowers, Valves, and Specialty Equipment.Job Responsibilities May Include:Maintain, repair, & overhaul process rotating machinery in a safe & efficient manner in both a shop and field environment.Set-up and operate machine tools to manufacture and repair parts to specifications using, Manual & CNC Lathes, Vertical & Horizontal Mills, Cylindrical & Surface Grinders.Able to use precision measuring equipment (Micrometers, Calipers, Protractors, & Indicators).Interpreting tolerances and dimensions from drawings, sketches, & engineering documents.Operate various shop support equipment. (Saws, Forklifts, Overhead Cranes, Hydraulic presses, Bearing Heaters, Torches, Etc.)Position Specific Requirements:Work Schedule: 9/80 Working ScheduleParticipation in callout coverageOccasionally an altered work schedule over an extended period may be required (maintenance outages and turnarounds)Physical Requirements: Climb laddersWalk up and down stepsLift up to 50 lbs.Must Be Able To Work In The Following Conditions: Work at heightsWork in compact and confined spacesWork outside in inclement weatherWork while wearing a respirator, Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR), or Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA)Work in areas requiring hearing protectionPossess a valid Driver's LicenseCandidate must have active TWIC card or be able to obtain a TWIC card.Minimum Qualifications:High school diploma or GED4+ years Machinist/Mechanical Journeyman level work experiencePreferred Qualifications:Possess one of the following certifications in a Mechanical discipline: Union or Company ApprenticeshipTrade SchoolJourneyman level MachinistPrevious refinery or chemical plant experience.Conditions Of Employment:Passing of pre-employment testingSuccessful completion of pre-employment requirements including physical agility test, physical, background check, and drug/alcohol screeningONLY CANDIDATES MEETING THE ABOVE REQUIREMENTS WILL BE CONSIDEREDFOR SERIOUS CONSIDERATION, PLEASE INCLUDE YOUR SALARY REQUIREMENTSMartinez Refining Company LLC, a PBF Energy Subsidiary, offers our employees highly competitive total compensation and benefits packages.
