Under the general direction of the Manufacturing Supervisor, this position involves the set-up and operation of conventional, special purpose, and numerical control (NC) machines to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and with reasonable accommodation when necessary.Job DescriptionEssential Duties and Responsibilities:Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirementsSelects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as CNC mills, CNC lathes, and grindersCalculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control mediaStarts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as requiredVerifies conformance of finished work piece to specificationsConfers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.Consistently, regularly and predictably at work and on timeOther duties may be assigned as neededQualificationsEducation, Certifications, Licenses, & Registrations:Two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Language SkillsIn order to be in compliance with FAA guidelines, employee must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.FAA RequirementsThis position is considered Safety Sensitive by the FAA and requires background check and drug screen along with quarterly random drug screens.Additional InformationBenefits:401(k)Medical, Dental & Vision insuranceEmployee assistance program (EAP)Flexible spending account (FSA)Health savings account (HSA)Paid time offTuition ReimbursementWe believe that different perspectives and backgrounds are what make a company flourish.
