Job description
Machinist/OperatorThe Machinist/Operator will play a key role in advancing Focus Manufacturing Services' machining capabilities as we continue to grow and scale our operations. This position is critical to elevating our standards of quality, efficiency, and professionalism across the shop floor.QualificationsStrong understanding of machine shop operationsTeam-oriented with excellent collaboration skillsProgramming and operating CNC machinesSkilled in machine setup and First Article Inspections (FAI)Knowledge of cutting tools, inserts, tool holders, and tooling systemsExperience with workplace organization systems such as 5SFamiliarity with machine maintenance (coolants, oils, filters, and general upkeep)Minimum 2+ years of machining experienceResponsibilitiesSet up jobs on multiple machinesDrive continuous improvement in processes, quality, and productivityEnsure accurate procedures, documentation, and blueprints are in place for all jobsSupport job kitting strategies to streamline workflow and reduce wasteFollow production schedules and help maintain on-time deliveryUnderstand part names, fixtures, and tooling related to shop proceduresContribute to improving overall shop safety standardsMaintain a clean, organized, and professional shop environmentMinimize scrap and rework through quality-focused practicesInterpret prints and fully understand GD&T requirementsMaximize machine utilization and runtime efficiencyPrinciples We Strive To Live ByGive Respect Assume the best in others, show kindness, and seek to understand.Be Humble Be willing to learn, communicate openly, and recognize opportunities to improve.Pursue Excellence Create value for others, challenge yourself, and strive to win—together.BenefitsMedical and dental insurance with generous company contributions401(k) plan with company matchCompany-paid life insurance with optional supplemental coveragePre-employment drug testing is required.Focus Manufacturing Services is committed to providing equal employment opportunities.
