Job description
MachinistAt Unified Door & Hardware Group (UDHG), a Machinist is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining numerical computer control (CNC) machines to produce precision parts. They interpret blueprints, select appropriate tools, and program the machines to cut, shape, and finish materials like metal or plastic. Machinist also monitor machine performance, inspect finished products for accuracy, and perform routine maintenance.Key ResponsibilitiesRead and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and production specificationsSelect appropriate tooling and materials for production requirementsSet up, calibrate, and operate CNC machinery to cut, shape, and finish materialsLoad raw materials and verify machine settings prior to production runsMonitor machine operations to ensure accuracy and efficiencyInspect finished parts and components for conformance to specifications and quality standardsUtilize measuring instruments and gauges to verify dimensional accuracyIdentify and report defects, non-conformances, or production issuesPerform routine preventative maintenance on CNC equipmentTroubleshoot machine malfunctions and operational issuesMake necessary adjustments to maintain optimal machine performance and production qualityEscalate significant equipment concerns to management or maintenance personnel as neededFollow all company safety policies, procedures, and manufacturing standardsProperly use required personal protective equipment (PPE)Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environmentAdhere to all quality assurance and operational proceduresSupport continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing departmentCollaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goalsPerform other duties as assigned to support Manufacturing and company objectivesQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required; vocational or technical training preferredKnowledge of CNC machine setup, operation, maintenance, and troubleshootingAbility to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specificationsProficiency in using measuring instruments and performing basic mathematical calculationsStrong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and commitment to quality standardsAbility to work safely in a manufacturing environment, stand for extended periods, and lift up to 40 poundsCompensation and BenefitsReports To Director of ManufacturingCompensation The listed pay range reflects the expected base rate for this position. Within the range, individual pay may vary based on experience, qualifications, and work location within state.
