Ready to Run the Machine? CNC Setup Machinist Wanted!We are seeking a skilled CNC Setup Machinist to join our team. This role involves performing advanced machine setups, writing and modifying CNC programs, and operating CNC machines to produce precision machined parts. You will be responsible for setting up machines for production runs, optimizing programs, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring high-quality machined components. The position requires strong technical expertise, CNC programming skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.ResponsibilitiesSet up, load, and operate CNC machines according to job specifications.Perform complex machine setups for production runs and set up fixturing using standard fixture hardware.Design custom fixtures for specialized machining operations.Calibrate machines and verify setup accuracy before production.Operate equipment and monitor production to ensure quality and efficiency.Perform first article inspections and verify dimensional accuracy.Write and modify CNC programs using G-code or CAM software.Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints to ensure accurate machining.Optimize cutting parameters, feed rates, and tool paths to improve cycle times.Troubleshoot programming errors and make real-time adjustments.Monitor machine operations to detect and address any issues or deviations.Conduct quality checks and measurements to ensure parts meet required specifications.Perform routine maintenance on CNC machines to ensure optimal performance.Provide guidance to CNC Operators on machine operation and troubleshooting.Maintain a clean and organized work area.Essential Skills5+ years of CNC machining experience.Strong CNC programming skills.Experience with mills, lathes, and multi-axis machines.Advanced knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).Technical problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.Experience in contract manufacturing or high-mix production environments.Additional Skills & Qualifications7+ years of CNC machining experience preferred.Technical certification or associate degree in machining or related field.Experience with CAM software (Mastercam, ESPRIT, or similar).Knowledge of fixture design and tooling optimization.Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing training.Forklift certification.Experience with 3-5 axis and horizontal machining.Why Work Here?This role offers great pay and a temp-to-hire opportunity. The work involves using advanced manufacturing technologies such as CNC machining, welding, and sheet metal fabrication.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Seattle, WA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $33.00 - $40.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
