Job TitlePrimary Responsibilities:The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:Follow direction from the General Manager of the PBU or his designee.Adhere to all Environmental, Health & Safety rules.Help support and maintain all 6S standards in your immediate work area and others as needed.Follow instructions and guidelines.Construct auxiliary equipment ranging in complexity from "simple to intermediate".Work with close tolerances related to drilling, boring, reaming and milling.Make sure all safety equipment and safety regulations are adhered to when operating machinery.Maintain a 40-hour workweek and ability to work overtime as needed.Perform other job-related duties as directed.Adhere to ISO 9001 Quality, ISO 14001 Environmental, and OSHAS 18801 certification requirements.Responsible to maintain a safe working environment for all employees.Requires regular attendance per the schedule assigned by supervisor.Knowledge and Skill RequirementThis position should possess the following skills/knowledge:High school diploma, desired.Two (2) years experience in vocational training or machine shop.Good working knowledge of metal cutting feeds and speeds, threading terminology and calculating angles for setting sine bars.Good working knowledge of standard shop mathematics.Able to work from blueprints, sketches and/or verbal descriptions for planning operational sequences.Understand grinding principles and procedures.Environmental / Atmospheric ConditionsTypical office/factory environment with possibility of exposure to heat in production areas.Working Conditions / Physical RequirementsMust be able to lift 50 lbs. in a safe manner.Must be able to perform repetitive motion. Examples: walking, reaching, bending, twisting, stooping, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods of time.Clarity of vision and the ability to focus on a fast and repetitious operation for extended period of time.Exposure to machine noise levels (hearing protection required).Exposure to heavy equipment or components needed to produce product (safety toed shoes required).Exposure to electrical and mechanical moving parts.Exposure to sparks, chips, and dust (eye protection required).
