Job description
Machinist & WelderWe are looking for a Machinist & Welder to join our team!As a Machinist & Welder, you are mechanically inclined, comfortable working with tools, and able to learn new manufacturing processes and equipment. You will have prior experience with manual or power tools, machining equipment, or manufacturing processes is preferred; however, if candidates do not need to be experts in all equipment or processes. Training and development may include the use of lathes, drills, mills, threaders, saws, bead blasters, Sanders, and processes such as welding, brazing, micro-TIG welding, laser welding, and spot welding. You will perform routine welding, brazing, fabrication, and metal joining activities to produce parts and assemblies in accordance with drawings, sketches, work instructions, and quality requirements. Criteria such as the candidate's qualifications and relevant experience, the scope of the specific position, as well as market and business considerations will be evaluated when extending an offer.Your Challenge:Set up work area, tools, fixtures, and equipment based on instructions and assigned work requirements.Perform routine welding, brazing, metal joining, and fabrication activities using approved methods and equipment.Read and follow blueprints, sketches, drawings, and verbal instructions to complete assigned work.Operate metal removing, joining, and supporting equipment using basic mathematical calculations.Support documentation, quality checks, and safe work practices.What You Bring:Due to the nature of work performed at this site, incumbents must be a U.S. Person.Typically 0-2 years of welding, brazing, fabrication, or related experience.Basic knowledge of metals, welding equipment, and shop safety.Familiarity with applicable methodologies (e.g. Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), or Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW)) preferred.Ability to follow instructions, drawings, and standard work procedures.Curtiss Wright Round Rock is a global engineering and design manufacture leader with just over six decades of experience designing for heavily regulated markets, such as nuclear, aerospace, oil and gas, and more.
