Machinist OpportunityPenn Machine Company has an excellent opportunity available in a growth industry with a proven 100+ year old company for a Machinist. Penn Machine Company LLC, a Marmon/Berkshire Hathaway Company, is a leading manufacturer of products and services for the transit, railroad, oil/gas, and mining industries. We are seeking a qualified individual for a full-time position for our Transit Division in Blairsville, PA.Our Machinists operate equipment necessary to produce quality components to specifications on prints while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.Primary responsibilities:Operate and maintain operation of CNC lathes, mills, and/or gear grinders as well as hand and power tools as required to perform job assignments.Replace worn inserts, drills or tooling and adjust feed/speed rates.Complete work assignments and associated reports in a timely manner.Verify machine components with measuring instruments to ensure parts are made within tolerances.Operate powered industrial forklift and crane hoist to transfer and position materials as needed.Maintain a safe, clean and well organized work area.Requirements for Positions:Machining background - knowledge of and/or machining background. Programming experience and training is preferred. Experience programming in MasterCam and/or Gear Pro is a plus.Strong background to read, understand, and interpret prints, with using measuring equipment, in completing reports and documentation, and ability to read and understand written directions and procedures.Machine shop environment background preferred.Self-motivated and willing to work with minimal supervision.Willingness to work overtime and alternate shifts, when required.We are willing to train a candidate with a machining and strong mechanical background and the right attitude to succeed.
