Job description
Facility Maintenance PositionPrimary Areas of Responsibility: Facility Maintenance, Security, Grounds and Parking AreasReports to: Director of MaintenanceType: Non-Exempt, Full Time (40 hours/week) Reporting Schedule: 8:00 am to 4:00 pmPrimary Tasks:Maintaining a clean and "clutter-free" facilityInspect facility daily, address conditions needing attentionAssist in the orientation of new employees and volunteers to the facility and its usePerform light grounds keeping as neededAttentive to the proper functioning of air conditioners, heat, lights, doors, locks, etc.Check all areas of the facility, parking lots and groundsBecome aware of and able to communicate procedures for using the facility and resourcesEngage in special preventive maintenance, repair or cleaning of all facilities as time allowsUndertake maintenance repairs, preventative maintenance and cleaning of facilities as directed by the Pastor and Maintenance Supervisor including, semi-skilled carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and other repair work that does not specifically require a licensed professional.Safety & Security:Recognize safety issues and fix any problems as they ariseIdentify possible safety issues and take steps to avoid accidentsCommunicate safety issues that cannot be readily fixed to Maintenance SupervisorQuestion unknown persons as to why they are in the building and assist them if necessaryGeneral:Provide support to Parish Staff as neededAccept deliveries to buildings as neededOther duties as assigned within the scope and timeframe of this position including, but not limited to, assisting supervisor as needed.Qualifications Required:Ability to honor and maintain confidentialityAbility to self-motivate, manage responsibilities and work independentlyValid Driver's licenseAbility to safely lift 50 lbs.Ability to effectively communicate and work with staff and volunteersMust pass background check and complete "Protecting God's Children" workshopPreferred:Facilities, grounds and general maintenance experiencePC skills
