Maintenance AssistantAppledorn SouthPay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour based on experience and credentialsShifts Available: 1st ShiftBenefits:Health, dental, and vision insurance available as outlined in the Employee HandbookBasic life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance provided at no cost to the employeeFlexible Spending Account (FSA)No wage capOpportunity for advancementOpportunity for picking up extra shiftsPaid Time Off (PTO) based on hours worked and years of serviceEligible for a potential 2% pay increase after 90 days based on performanceAnnual merit increases based on performance evaluations401(k) retirement savings plan with company match (up to 50% of employee contribution, up to 6%)Perfect attendance bonusPaid orientation and trainingPolo Shirt providedManager on duty 7 days a weekFun staff calendar and employee engagement activitiesOnShift Engage—bonus pay structureLow-cost meal plan--$2 per mealOnShift Wallet—access to funds prior to pay dayWorking Advantage—employee discount programEmployee referral Bonus—up to $1000 per referralResident referral bonus—up to $1000 per referralAdditional benefits as outlined in the Employee HandbookPosition Purpose:Supports the Maintenance Supervisor in maintaining the building, equipment, and grounds to ensure a safe, clean, and well-functioning environment for residents, staff, and visitors.Qualifications:Must be able to read, write and carry out directions in EnglishExperience in maintenance preferredBasic skills in painting, repairs, and equipment operations?Minimum of 18 years of ageMust be able to pass the state mandated criminal background screening and pre-employment drug screening for illegal substancesEssential Functions:Complete work orders promptly and in priority order (emergencies first)Perform routine maintenance to ensure building systems and equipment are fully operationalCommunicate delays, needed parts, or issues to supervisorAssist with painting, repairs, and general upkeep of apartments and common areasMaintain exterior areas including sidewalks, parking lots, and flower bedsAssist with snow and ice removal to ensure safe walkways and exitsMaintain outdoor features (patio furniture, courtyards, fountains, etc.)Perform routine inspections of building and grounds and address concernsOperate and maintain equipment (carpet cleaners, snow blowers, etc.)Perform carpet and upholstery cleaning as directedEnsure proper use and care of tools and equipmentReport hazards, maintenance concerns, or unsafe conditions immediatelyOn-Call duties minimum of one weekend/month for Maintenance SupervisorPhysical and Mental Requirements:Ability to lift up to 100 pounds.Must be able to safely climb ladders and access elevated areas, including rooftops, to perform maintenance and inspection tasks.Ability to stand, walk, bend, and assist residents in all aspects of job dutiesHandle emotional and physical demands of job dutiesAppledorn SouthOur living center is a licensed Home for the Aged in Michigan, dedicated to providing compassionate, personalized care to our residents.
