Job description
Breakdown Support SpecialistCommunicates with all necessary parties to resolve breakdown issues, while ensuring drivers' safety.Role And ResponsibilitiesAssists drivers over the phone and via other communication devices with technical questions pertaining to the breakdown or damage of equipment. Properly triage to avoid costly and unnecessary repairs and downtime.Investigates historical repair records to identify trendsDetermines the appropriate steps to ensure both the driver and equipment are safely removed from the road, if necessary.Examines locations of maintenance facilities to determine the best solution for a breakdown event.Communicates necessary breakdown information with other departments to ensure on-time delivery.Obtains estimates, provides appropriate repair approvals, and updates repair statuses.Issues repair authorizations to vendors as needed.Coordinates lodging reservationsReceives and carries out instructions.Manages regular and predictable attendance.Performs other duties as assigned.Required Skills/AbilitiesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent critical-thinking and problem-solving skillsAbility to work in complex, unstructured situations requiring independent judgmentProficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related softwareUse of multiple computer systems and screensQualifications And Education RequirementsHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six to twelve months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experiencePhysical RequirementsProlonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds at times.
