Job description
Maintenance ElectricianThe maintenance electrician will perform tasks including but not limited to one or more of the following tasks: maintain all primary and secondary/electrical distribution systems up to 600 volts. Troubleshoot and maintain control circuitry, variable frequency drives and all other special electrical systems. Wire outlets, relocate fixtures, troubleshoot lighting and power panels, install such outlets in existing and underground raceways when applicable and required. Perform as a Multi-Craft Technician other duties onsite, such as plumbing, HVAC, and general building maintenance as assigned.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesMaintain all primary and secondary/electrical distribution systems up to 600 volts. Troubleshoot and maintain control circuitry, variable frequency drives and all other special electrical systems. Wire outlets, relocate fixtures, lighting and power panels, install such outlets in existing and underground raceways when applicable and required.Service batteries and transformersDemonstrate the ability to read and follow blueprintsDemonstrate understanding of AC motor controls and how to maintain, test, and repairDemonstrate understanding of VFD's and how to install, maintain, and troubleshoot.Responsible for the completion of all PM and record keeping assigned to his/her areas of responsibility.Submit as required electrician's reports for all work done.Make recommendations to his/her supervisor as necessary on the performance of all equipment.Respond to emergencies at any time.Maintain a safe and clean work area. Demonstrate basic safe work practices based on company and customer policies and procedures.QualificationsHS diploma or Degree/Certification, or equivalent professional experience in Trades (Electrical).Must have a Journeyman's license or have successfully completed a four-year apprenticeship programFive or more years' experience working in Commercial, Industrial, and Manufacturing environment.Proven in-depth knowledge of related building codes, regulations and ordinances.Proven ability to effectively read, interpret and work from plans, schematics and drawings.Prior experience in project estimation of electrical labor, materials and equipment.Strong interpersonal skills and good customer service skills.Work EnvironmentMoving mechanical parts and high, precarious placesOccasional exposure to:Fumes or airborne particlesToxic or caustic chemicalsRisk of electrical shock and vibrationModerate to high noise levelsOutdoor weather conditions (including extreme cold, extreme heat).The following safety equipment may be required: steel toecap shoes, hearing protection, hardhat eye protection and hair protection.Equal Opportunity EmployerAs a leading provider of mechanical and electrical construction, facilities services, and energy infrastructure, we offer employees a competitive salary and benefits package and we are always looking for individuals with the talent and skills required to contribute to our continued growth and success.
