Job Title: Maintenance & Engineering Manager
Location: New Orleans, LA
Position Overview
Aegis Worldwide is partnering with a leading manufacturing organization in the New Orleans area to hire an experienced Engineering & Maintenance Manager. This individual will lead both the engineering and maintenance functions, driving reliability, efficiency, and continuous improvement across the facility.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring a balance of strategic planning and active involvement on the shop floor. The ideal candidate is a strong people leader with deep expertise in industrial maintenance operations and preventative maintenance systems.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and oversee all maintenance and engineering operations within the facility
Develop, implement, and continuously improve preventative maintenance (PM) programs to maximize equipment uptime and reliability
Manage day-to-day maintenance activities, ensuring timely response to equipment issues and minimizing production downtime
Provide hands-on support and leadership on the production floor as needed
Drive strategic initiatives related to equipment reliability, process improvement, and operational efficiency
Lead capital projects, including planning, budgeting, execution, and post-project evaluation
Develop and manage departmental budgets, including capital expenditures and maintenance costs
Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing maintenance and engineering team
Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to maintenance, reliability, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE)
Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, production, and leadership teams to support business goals
Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field (required)
6+ years of leadership experience within a manufacturing environment
Strong background in industrial maintenance operations
Proven expertise in preventative maintenance planning and implementation
Experience managing capital projects and budgets
Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Strong problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset
Ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on involvement on the shop floor
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with CMMS systems and maintenance tracking tools
Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma experience
Background in high-speed or process manufacturing environments
