Job description
Maintenance OperatorThe Maintenance Operator plays a critical role in maintaining conveyor belts and pneumatic systems and performing operations such as scale house, silo loader, and railcar movements at the terminal. The ideal candidate is mechanically skilled, safety-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced industrial environment.Duties and ResponsibilitiesMaintenance:Perform and assist with preventative maintenance of conveyor belts and pneumatic systemsInspect, service, grease, and lubricate equipment; change oils on scheduled basisIdentify and document equipment defects and performance deficiencies; complete inspection sheets and work orders to track parts usageUtilize FIXX MMS system to maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance recordsAssist with rail car moving and other terminal operations as neededAny other duties assigned by the Terminal ManagerScale House:General Housekeeping (i.e. sweep, mop, dust, clean restroom, and take out trash)Answer PhonesCommunicate with drivers via CB radioData Entry from scaled truck weightLoad sand trucks using the via automation systemCommunicate with other employees via radios systemObtain driver signature on paperwork and place in appropriate files.Silo Loader:Operate loader to load sand into hopper and inside warehouseMust be alert and aware of surrounding (ie. turning head looking out all windows and verifying the direction being travelled)Control sand inventory in silos by communicating with the scale house.Check to ensure that contamination of sand props is minimized.Railcar unloader/conductor:Open and close pit doorsVerify with Engineers that all switches line up before moving.Communicate with Engineers via RadioCount cars and help perform all switchesCheck all cars to understand to know where to make the separationsLace hoses when coupling and pull pin releases when uncouplingSet hand brakes by climbing up a 2-step ladder and turn the brake wheelUse pneumatic opener to open and close cars.Record the information from railcar on list "car number "Once a hopper, is empty spot the next hopper while communicating to engineerQualificationsTwo to three years of hands-on experience with hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems preferredHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED)Strong mechanical aptitude, with proficiency in basic math and computer systemsCommitment to upholding Twin Eagle's safety culture, including participation in safety training programs and safe handling of hazardous materialsAble to read and follow written and verbal instructions with minimal supervisionAble to complete all required paperwork legibly, accurately, and on timeStrong communication and collaboration skills; able to work effectively with team members and third-party personnelMust be available to work weekends, overtime, and holidays. May work irregular schedule based on operational needsPhysical DemandsRegularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, squat, and crawl to perform maintenance tasksLift and carry up to 50 lbs. of tools and equipment unassistedAscend and descend ladders, stairs, rail cars, and other equipment up to 90 feet in heightNavigate terminal grounds including areas with heavy equipment and loose rockFrequently reach overhead and work above shoulder levelWork outdoors and be subject to varying weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold
