Each property offers a distinctively stylish experience, reflecting our commitment to excellence and innovation in hospitality.The Maintenance Painter performs high standard level of work in painting, finishing, and maintaining a wide variety of interior and exterior surfaces and structures; may direct the work of other classified staff in the area and perform related work as required. The painter prepares surfaces for painting and finishing; applies undercoats and finish coats using the full range of application methods and materials; mixes and matches paints and finishes. Advises in selection and storage of painting materials.Duties & Responsibilities:Prepares, primes, sands, seals, patches, caulks and paints (roller and brush finish) building surfaces and fixtures utilizing all types of painting materialsTapes, flushes, repairs and applies texturing, and wallpaper. Utilizes enhanced finishing skills when appropriatePerforms minor carpentry, sheetrock, wallpaper and tile repairsApplies materials to, existing, and alterations (refurbishments)Graffiti response and removal if neededOperates, cleans and maintains all painting equipment, including brush, roll, sprayers and pumps, etc. Safely stores and labels all materialsChecks work orders, managers' report and resolves any issues reportedMaintains appropriate services and repairs recordsSupports hotel engineering maintenance programs and executes daily, weekly, and monthly checklistOperates and uses required tools and equipment skilfully and safelyPerforms heavy physical laborResponsible for any hotel issued keysEscort and monitor any outside vendors that work on the property in all phases of workMaintain cleanliness and organization of the work area to include: inventories, trash removal and clean upAssist other engineering personnel as instructed by supervisor in regards to routine and preventative maintenance. Willing to learn and support hotel needs in all engineering capacities such as guest room and public space service callsResponds and participates to all building related fire and life safety concerns and must be familiar with all building locations and exitsPlease note that this summary of duties and responsibilities is not an exhaustive list of tasks and but serves only as a guideline of which may change from time to time depending on the hotel needs. Must be willing to help in any capacity needed such as general maintenance repairsRequirements:High school Diploma, General Education Degree, college degree or trade school preferableExperience in commercial, luxury hotel or residential properties from 2 to 5 years. Practices and processes of the painting trade; paints varnishes, wallpaper and related materialsKnowledge in the maintenance of tools, machinery and equipment; occupational hazards of the painting trade and precautionary measures to be observedBe able to work in standing position for long periods of time up to 5 hours and carry 50 to 100lbsAbility to work a variety of varying schedule and support when other department members are offAbility to communicate well with staff and guest.
