Riverview Gardens School District Maintenance SupportReports directly to the Director of Facilities. To provide general maintenance support for the District.Essential Functions:Installs, maintains and repairs water and sanitary systems, sittings, and fixturesCuts openings in walls for pipes; cuts, reams and threads pipe; caulk and wipes joints; pours, spreads, and shapes molten solder over joints; and installs necessary supports, hangers, and foundations for water and sanitary equipmentRepairs and reconditions plumbing installations such as sinks, dishwashers, lavatories, sump pumps, and water waste and vent-linesInstalls, maintains, repairs and troubleshoot water and sewer systems from curb lines to building interiors as well as on boilers, chiller and rooftop A/C unitsSuccessful completion of a background check by Human ResourcesPerform other job-related duties as assignedEducation and Experience:Requires a St. Louis County Plumbing LicenseMinimum of six (6) years of Journeyman level plumbing experienceGraduation from a general or technical high schoolKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Considerable knowledge of the standard practices, methods, tools and equipment of the plumbing trade.Knowledge of the hazards and safety precaution of the plumbing tradeAbility to work from sketches and specificationsAbility to observe safety precautions in carrying out assigned tasksAbility to understand and carry out oral and written instructionsSkilled in the use of the tools and equipment of the plumbing tradePhysical Requirements:Must be physically able to operate a motor vehicleHave a valid driver's licenseSitting, Standing, Walking, Climbing, Balancing, Stooping or Crouching, Kneeling, Crawling, Reaching, Pushing, Grasping, Talking, HearingClarity of vision at 20 inches or lessMedium work - exert up to 25 to 70 pounds of force often to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.Physical strength and agility sufficient enough to do assigned tasksLight Work usually requires walking or standing to a significant degree; on feet 7 out of 8 hours per dayWorking Conditions and Environment:Work is routinely performed in a typical interior/office environmentWill have limited or extreme exposure to physical riskDisclaimer:The information contained in this job description is for compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and is not an exhaustive list of the duties performed for this position.
