Job description
Campus Head CustodianPerform all custodial cleanliness tasks and to insure a safe, clean, healthy school campus.Perform tasks as assigned by Campus Head Custodian.High School Diploma or equivalent preferredLeadership skills to effectively give direction to other employees to insure the completion of all assigned custodial tasksRead and understand instructions for cleaning, maintenance, and safety proceduresBasic computer skills- understanding district software, approving employee time sheets, submitting work orders and ordering custodial suppliesCommunicate verbally and in writing to other staff concerning requirements of the job and other information important to the jobKnowledge of minor repair techniques and building and grounds maintenanceOperate cleaning equipment and lift heavy equipmentBasic understanding of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division to know the proper dilution of chemicalsTools/equipment used: including but not limited to buffer, stripper, wet and dry vacuum cleaner, electric drill, hand toolsPosture: frequent standing, sitting, kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twistingMotion: frequent walking, climbing stairs/ladders, grasping/squeezing, wrist flexion/extension, reaching, and overhead reachingLifting: heavy lifting and carrying (45 pounds and over) on a daily basis; occasional exertion of a heavy force (50 lbs or greater)Environment: work outside and inside, on slippery or uneven walking surfaces; frequent exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures, dust, toxic chemicals and materials; exposure to high noise levels; regularly work irregular hours; occasional prolonged hoursMental demands: frequent changes in task; maintain emotional control under stressRegular attendance is an essential functionCustodial experience desired but not required
