Pay: $28.00 - $36.00 per hour Depending on Experience and Skill Level

Position Summary

The Maintenance Technician maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs industrial production equipment. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, equipment installation, and supporting reliable plant operations.

Candidates may be hired at Level I, II, or III based on experience. Electrical certification or formal electrical training is required; however, this is an industrial maintenance position-not an electrician position. Candidates should have strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic systems.

Diagnose equipment problems using schematics, test instruments, observation, and knowledge of machine operation.

Complete preventive and corrective maintenance according to established schedules.

Install, assemble, and repair production equipment and related systems.

Troubleshoot automated machinery, robots, PLCs, sensors, motors, and control systems.

Connect to PLCs to monitor equipment operation, identify control problems, and upload or download programs when qualified.

Read electrical diagrams, ladder logic, blueprints, and hydraulic and pneumatic schematics.

Inspect parts and equipment for wear, damage, misalignment, or potential failure.

Set up and manually operate equipment to confirm problems and verify completed repairs.

Fabricate or repair parts using shop equipment such as drill presses, grinders, lathes, welders, and cutting equipment.

Install and maintain piping and related hydraulic or pneumatic components.

Use forklifts, hoists, lifts, chains, straps, and slings to safely move equipment.

Document maintenance work, repairs, and resolutions in the CMMS.

Help develop and improve maintenance procedures, checklists, and preventive-maintenance plans.

Maintain tools, replacement parts, materials, and work areas.

Report unsafe conditions and potential equipment failures.

Follow safety, quality, PPE, and departmental procedures.

Work cooperatively with production employees, maintenance team members, supervisors, and outside vendors.

Provide technical guidance or training to less-experienced technicians when appropriate.

Attend technical training as needed to maintain and improve job skills.

Maintain dependable attendance and work overtime or adjusted schedules when required.

Perform other maintenance-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Electrical certification, technical-school electrical training, or equivalent formal training.

Industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing or production environment.

Experience performing preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and equipment troubleshooting.

Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

Ability to read electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic prints and schematics.

Ability to use diagnostic tools and safely perform equipment repairs.

Basic computer skills, including the ability to enter maintenance information into a CMMS.

Ability to follow written, verbal, diagram-based, and scheduled work instructions.

Ability to perform basic workplace math, including measurements, fractions, percentages, ratios, and conversions.

Ability to communicate clearly and document completed work.

Education or technical training is preferred. Equivalent industrial maintenance experience may be considered.

Preferred Experience Maintenance experience with injection molding, blow molding, rotational molding, compression molding, or other automated manufacturing equipment.

Troubleshooting PLC-controlled production equipment.

Experience with industrial robots and automated material-handling systems.

Experience with motors, drives, sensors, heaters, control circuits, and related components.

Welding, machining, or basic fabrication experience.

Forklift, scissor-lift, or boom-lift training or certification.

Level Guidelines

Level I: Developing technician with foundational industrial maintenance experience. Performs routine preventive maintenance and basic repairs with guidance.

Level II: Experienced technician who independently troubleshoots and repairs multiple equipment systems and may assist with training newer employees.

Level III: Senior-level technician with advanced electrical, mechanical, automation, PLC, and equipment-diagnostic skills. Handles complex repairs and provides technical leadership.

Final level and starting pay will be based on demonstrated skills, training, and relevant manufacturing experience.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, climb, reach, push, pull, and work in confined or elevated areas.

Use hands for grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive tasks.

Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Work around operating machinery, moving equipment, uneven surfaces, noise, dust, fumes, and industrial chemicals.

Operate forklifts, lifts, and other equipment when trained and authorized.

Wear required PPE, which may include safety glasses, gloves, steel-toe slip-resistant shoes, hearing protection, hard hat, face shield, and respirator.

Must be able to use a respirator when required.

Reasonable accommodations may be provided to qualified individuals with disabilities.
