Job description
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing general maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance to ensure apartment homes, common areas, and community facilities are maintained in a safe, clean, and functional condition. This role requires strong troubleshooting skills, knowledge of building maintenance systems, excellent customer service, and the ability to work independently while maintaining high-quality standards. Key Responsibilities: Perform maintenance and repairs on apartments, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, drywall, painting, and appliance repairs. Complete work orders accurately and efficiently while meeting company standards and deadlines. Prepare vacant apartment units for new residents by completing make-ready repairs and inspections. Conduct preventative maintenance on building systems, equipment, and community amenities. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues. Maintain the grounds, common areas, and exterior of the property as needed. Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests and participate in the on-call rotation when required. Inspect buildings and equipment to identify repair needs and safety concerns. Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment. Ensure all work is completed in compliance with company policies and safety regulations. Provide professional and courteous customer service when interacting with residents and team members. Perform additional maintenance duties and special projects as assigned. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum two (2) years of apartment maintenance, facilities maintenance, or general maintenance experience preferred. Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, appliance repair, and general building maintenance. Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot maintenance issues efficiently. Basic computer skills for completing work orders and maintenance documentation. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
