Maintenance Technician (Electromechanical)
McGregor, TX
1st Shift: Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM (occasional Saturdays) 3rd shift 10:00 PM- 6:00 PM
$28-$32/hour DOE
Full-Time | In-Office (Non-Remote)

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Electromechanical Maintenance Technician to support a high-volume structural steel manufacturing operation. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing integrated electromechanical systems across advanced production equipment.
This is not a basic maintenance role - ideal candidates must be comfortable working across mechanical, electrical, PLC-controlled systems, robotics, and automation equipment to keep production running efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production and facility equipment
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automated systems
Diagnose complex issues involving PLC-controlled machinery, robotics, and integrated systems
Maintain and repair components such as:
Motors, gearboxes, bearings, belts, chains, couplings
Pumps, valves, cylinders, actuators, sensors, switches
Troubleshoot:
VFDs, motor controls, HMIs, safety circuits, and automation faults
Sensors, relays, contactors, encoders, and servo systems
Support robotic welding systems including fault recovery and restart (within scope)
Read and interpret:
Electrical schematics
Mechanical drawings
Hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams
Perform equipment alignment, calibration, and operational testing
Troubleshoot and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems
Assist with equipment installs, upgrades, and modifications
Accurately document repairs, downtime, and maintenance activities
Communicate equipment status with production and maintenance teams
Qualifications
Minimum 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience
Strong experience with electromechanical systems (required)
Experience with automation, robotics, CNC equipment, or heavy manufacturing
Background in steel, fabrication, or welding environments is a plus
Ability to troubleshoot multi-system failures (mechanical + electrical + controls)
Experience working independently during breakdowns
Ability to read schematics, ladder diagrams, and blueprints
Comfortable using diagnostic tools, meters, and precision instruments
High school diploma or GED required
Technical or vocational training is a plus
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb throughout shift
Lift up to 50 lbs (more with assistance)
Work around moving equipment and in confined spaces
Must wear PPE (steel-toe boots, safety glasses, etc.)
