Maintenance Technician

Key Responsibilities:
- Comply with all Bethany Community Services Policies and Procedures, including safety standards and operational guidelines.
- Promote and implement safe work practices among on-site staff and ensure a safe working environment.
- Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of the property, including buildings, facilities, and grounds, both indoor and outdoor.
- Follow specific departmental policies and procedures as instructed by supervisors.
- Diagnose and repair issues across various systems and areas, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, major appliances, carpentry, emergency systems, flooring, hardware accessories, masonry, painting/wallpaper, and water features such as pools and spas.
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance to identify potential issues before they escalate.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs performed.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to prioritize tasks and ensure timely completion of maintenance requests.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in building maintenance, repair, or a related field.
- Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general repair techniques.
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot a wide range of maintenance issues.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and procedures.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Physical ability to perform manual tasks, including lifting, climbing, and working in various environmental conditions.

Requirements
COMPETENCIES
Verbal and written communication skills.
Mechanical aptitude
Bilingual/English/Spanish a plus
PREPARATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS Ability to read, write and communicate in English is required.
The ability to lift 50 pounds or more on occasion may be required.
This position may require standing, sitting, or kneeling for long periods of time and occasionally require working in hard-to-reach are.
Salary Description
Hourly based on experience and certifications $30+
