Job description
Maintenance Technician II
Under general direction, performs a variety of skilled preventive and general maintenance, repair, construction, and renovation work on facilities and building systems, including on plumbing systems, electrical, mechanical equipment.
This is a bargaining unit position. Union dues are required.
Location: Claremont, CA
Time Type: Full-time
Work Schedule: This is a regular, non-exempt, full-time, staff position working Monday-Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with a 30-minute lunch break. These hours may vary due to needs of the College or department. Must be available to be contacted by telephone during non-working hours and respond to urgent and emergency calls as needed. Must participate in the Campus Facilities on-call rotation with other department managers. May be required to work occasional evenings, weekends and holidays.

Compensation: Union contract rate of pay $32.50 per hour

Physical Requirements: This is a physically active position.
Must be able to do strenuous manual labor in various indoor and outdoor climates.
Must be able to stand, walk, bend, climb, push, pull, stoop, twist, and climb ladders up to 20 feet with assistance and 10 feet unassisted.
Must have the ability and dexterity to use hand and power tools, and other equipment required for position.
Must be able to work on feet for prolonged periods of time.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds from the ground to waist-level unassisted.
