Job description

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, this position is responsible for ensuring the safety, quality, and performance of production equipment. The role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and sustaining custom automation equipment, as well as performing hands-on preventive and corrective maintenance tasks to maximize production output. The individual may also be responsible for maintaining building facilities and related systems as needed. In addition, you may be assigned other duties or responsibilities, including work in other departments, to support overall company operations. A company-issued cell phone may be provided for business use in accordance with company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

Working Shift hours and flexible to possible shift time changes.

Be on-site during all working hours.

Hands on work resolving emergency equipment breakdowns, routine repair work, and other preventative maintenance jobs.

Daily work will include a mix of responding to equipment failures as they occur, completing scheduled equipment servicing/lubing/inspections, completing Trello documentation, and helping drive new opportunities for improvements.

Assist operations in achieving their production timelines by ensuring equipment is in good operating condition and responding to emergency breakdowns in a timely manner.

Collaborate with the other department teams on process improvements.

Carefully read manuals of equipment and interpret them to understand how to operate and maintain them properly

Inspect newly acquired equipment upon arrival, check every part to be sure that they are working and meet industry standards before they are put to use in the factory

Read work orders to confirm the production task is within the capacity of the factory's equipment to abide by manufacturers' guidelines; make provision for alternate equipment to handle big production tasks to prevent wearing out

Strictly abide by safety regulations during manufacturing activities, keeping equipment in check to avoid mechanical hazards that could cause harm to operators and workers

Teach workers how to operate equipment to avoid pressing the wrong buttons that could trigger accidents, which could lead to casualties

Carry out routine servicing of equipment as part of measures to prevent breakdowns and malfunctions, which could thwart production activities

Keep record of maintenance activities to track the lifespan of equipment. When equipment breakdown continues too frequently after repeated fixing, it will need to be replaced

Oversight of chemical storage and SDS compliance/labelling

Troubleshoot equipment to determine specific malfunctioning issues and tackle them accordingly

Communicate with management or clients to inform them about equipment faults and best maintenance techniques to implement for maximum performance

Prioritize daily work orders according to their level of importance

Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Trade school certificates/licenses or associate degree preferred.

3 to 5yr+ Experience in Manufacturing as an Industrial Mechanic.

Good documentation skills.

Hands on repair skills.

Good communication, team player, flexible, self-motivated, and decision maker.

Professionalism.

Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Continuous learning attitude.

Can read schematics (equipment manuals, mechanical, pneumatic, piping, part assemblies).

Safe, clean, and organized work habits.

Familiar with what tools are correct for specific tasks.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in equipment operation and preventive maintenance for CNC, Cross Cut Saws, Welders, Conveyors, Shrink Wrap, Scales and Various pneumatic equipment to name a few.

Preventive maintenance experience.

Other trade skills/licenses/experience (HVAC, pipefitting, welding, machinist, construction, etc.).

Proficiency with Microsoft applications.

Experience editing existing schematics (red lining).

Working Conditions: Work environment includes exposure to chemical materials and high noise areas.

Must have a high consciousness for personnel and equipment safety.

May be required to use various personal protective equipment (PPE) including respirators, gloves, safety glasses, and protective clothing.

Physical Requirements: Frequent reaching, bending, twisting, turning, and climbing.

Ability to walk, stand, and climb stairs for extended periods.

Work in various positions such as walking, standing, or sitting for prolonged durations.

Exposure to indoor factory conditions and outdoor environments with varying temperatures.

Job will require frequent physical activities such as climbing scaffolding/ladders, working at heights, confined space entry, standing or walking for extended durations, and lifting to 50lbs routinely with or without accommodations
