Pay: $28 per hour, based on experience

The Role
We’re hiring an experienced Maintenance Technician to handle repairs and building inspections across our portfolio. This is a mobile position — you’ll travel between buildings in the Brooklyn, Queens and Long Island, handling work orders as they come in and performing scheduled inspections. If you like variety and don’t want to sit in one basement all day, this is the job.
What You’ll Do
Respond to tenant work orders: plumbing (leaks, clogs, fixtures, valves), electrical (outlets, switches, fixtures, breakers), carpentry, drywall and patch/paint, tile, doors, locks, and appliance repair
Perform full building inspections on a scheduled rotation — common areas, roofs, basements, boiler rooms, stairwells, exterior — and document findings with photos and written reports
Complete apartment turnovers between tenants
Monitor and perform basic service on boilers and building systems; identify issues before they become emergencies
Meet and escort vendors, inspectors, and contractors on site
Support compliance work: help track and clear violations, prep for required inspections, and flag conditions that create liability
Log all work, time, and materials in our property management software (AppFolio) from your phone
Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours emergencies
Seasonal work including snow and ice removal at select properties
What You Need
5+ years of hands-on building or apartment maintenance experience
Working knowledge of residential plumbing, electrical, and general repair
Valid NYS driver’s license with a clean record — you’ll be driving between sites daily
Your own hand tools
Comfortable using a smartphone for work orders, photos, and reporting
Able to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in basements, roofs, and mechanical rooms
Reliable, presentable, and able to communicate professionally with tenants
Legally authorized to work in the U.S.; must pass a background check
Nice to Have
FDNY Certificate of Fitness (S-12, S-13, or P-99 oil burner)
EPA 608 certification
OSHA 10 or 30
Boiler or HVAC experience
Bilingual English/Spanish
