Job description

Maintenance TechnicianThe Maintenance Technician is responsible for the general maintenance of the property and provide after-hour support as needed.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesGuest ServiceMaintains guest service as the driving philosophy of the operationPersonally demonstrates a commitment to guest service in responding promptly to guests' needsCommitted to ensuring every guest is satisfiedMeets or exceeds guest satisfaction measuresEnsures hotel standards and services contribute to the delivery of consistent guest serviceMaintenance DutiesPerform maintenance and repair work on the interior and exterior of buildings, hotel rooms and contents, laundry and kitchen/refrigeration equipment, lighting, heating/air conditioningEnsure that the rooms and property are maintained in the best possible condition, with the least inconvenience to guests.Clean and maintain swimming pool in a safe and sanitary mannerCheck and perform preventative maintenance on pumps, chlorinators, and filters for swimming poolProvide on-call support for urgent requests after hours, on weekends, holidays, etc.Perform preventive maintenance as outlined in the Preventative Maintenance Program.Follow procedures that ensure the security of inventory.Report emergencies or threats to the security of guests, employees or hotel assets.Report any hazardous situations, malfunctioning to external signs or unlit areas.Install, adjust, modify and repair building systems and assess the conditions of all effective operations.Test safety systems, e.g. emergency lighting and record keeping and assist with periodic inspection of all safety systems.Ensure that room maintenance requests are handled in a prompt and courteous manner.Follow up on all alarms immediately to determine the exact location and cause. Determine emergency status and repair projects.Assist the engineering staff in adhering to Loss Prevention guidelines.Perform inspections on a regular basis of working orders and checks adjusts repairs and monitor the building system.Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner.Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Gulph Creek standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform and nametag when working.Other duties as requiredSnow removalQualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Education and/or ExperienceHigh School diploma or equivalent required.2 years' experience in general building maintenance and/or construction, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.May be required to work nights when neededWeekends and/or holidays requiredMust have good communication and customer service skills.Language And Mathematical SkillsAbility to read and speak English and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memosAbility to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employeesAbility to effectively communicate with employees, guests and supervisors for optimum operation of the propertyReasoning AbilityDemonstrate the ability to anticipate and solve practical problems or resolve issues.Must have a valid driver's license.Physical Demands/ Work Environment:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Frequently handling objects and equipment to maintain the facilityThe performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas where certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection. Primary environment: ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment.
