Tool & Die MachinistBe part of bringing new manufacturing capability to life.The Ohio Art Company is expanding operations in Bryan- and manufacturing equipment is arriving within the next few weeks. We're looking for a skilled Tool & Die Machinist to join our Maintenance team and play a critical role in supporting, maintaining, and optimizing this equipment from day one.This is more than a traditional machinist role- you'll be working hands-on with production tooling that directly supports lithography and metal packaging operations, helping ensure quality, uptime, and performance.RequirementsWhy This Role Stands OutEquipment Arrival – Be part of the team that supports and maintains newly installed production systemsCareer Growth Built In – This role is part of our Maintenance Tier System, with clear pathways to advance as you gain skills and experienceSpecialized Work – Work on precision tooling that directly impacts production quality and efficiencyStable, Union Environment – Position operates under a collective bargaining agreement covering wages, benefits, and working conditions.What You'll DoFabricate, maintain, and repair tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and precision componentsSet up and operate manual machining equipment including lathes, mills, grinders, and EDMRead and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, schematics, and GD&T specificationsSupport production by troubleshooting and repairing tooling to minimize downtimeInspect finished components using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges)Collaborate with engineering and production teams to modify and improve tooling performanceMaintain accurate documentation of work performed and materials usedFollow all safety standards, union guidelines, and maintenance proceduresWhat We're Looking For3–5+ years of experience as a Tool & Die Machinist or precision machinistStrong understanding of machining practices, tooling, and metal forming processesAbility to read and interpret blueprints and GD&THands-on experience with manual machining equipmentKnowledge of materials, heat treating, and manufacturing processesStrong troubleshooting skills and attention to detailReliable work history and commitment to safetyPreferred QualificationsTechnical trade school, apprenticeship, or formal machinist trainingExperience supporting metal packaging, stamping, or high-speed production environmentsFamiliarity with preventive maintenance systems and tooling lifecycle managementSchedule & BenefitsCompetitive union wagesComprehensive benefits package including:Medical, Dental, VisionFREE Life InsurancePaid Vacation + 11 Paid HolidaysProfit-Sharing Opportunities401(k) with guaranteed 4.5% company contribution + matchGrow Your Career in MaintenanceThis position is part of our structured Maintenance Tier System, providing clear opportunities to:Advance your technical skillsetIncrease responsibility and pay over timeBuild a long-term career within a highly specialized manufacturing environmentApply TodayIf you're a skilled machinist who takes pride in precision work and wants to be part of launching and supporting new equipment, we want to hear from you.Apply now and help keep our operation running at its best.
