Maintenance WorkerThe City of Aiken is seeking a Maintenance Worker to join our Public Services Department in the Buildings and Grounds Division.Examples of Duties:Installation and maintenance of seasonal flowerbedsGeneral landscaping maintenancePerforming manual labor and related dutiesInstalls sod, trees and various other plantsApplies pesticides and herbicidesOperates chipper and a variety of commercial mowers and small engine hand toolsWorks in inclement weatherMinimum Qualifications:A working knowledge of annuals, perennials, shrubs, and trees is preferredExperience with tractor/large equipment is desirableMust be able to read and write, as well as understand and follow verbal instructionsMust have a valid state driver's licenseSupplemental Information:This position is subject to a criminal background check for any convictions directly related to its duties and responsibilities.
