Maintenance And Operation Of City Owned Ballfields And Sports FacilitiesReady to start your career with the City of Temple?This position is primarily responsible for the maintenance and operation of city owned ballfields and sports facilities. Essential duties and responsibilities include:Preparing and maintaining athletic fields and sport courts to include dragging and striping fields, setting bases, mowing, weed eating, cleaning restrooms and trash removalMaintaining, repairing area parks and facilities to include: mowing, weed eating, edging, tree pruning, play structures, pavilions, fencing, lighting, irrigation systems, sidewalks, parking lots, restroom cleaning, tree planting, and trash removalOperating and performing minor maintenance of mowers, edgers, blowers, trucks, trailers, utility vehicles, infield rake, and hand toolsIdentifying maintenance repairs and turns in related requests to supervisorCompleting and submitting required paperworkAssisting with preparation of special events, tournaments, and league practices to include the set-up, staging, and clean-upEnsuring City financial policies, procedures, and safety guidelines followedPerforming other duties as assignedMinimum qualifications:High School diploma or equivalentOne (1) year experience in maintenance or operating related equipmentPreferred qualifications:One year experience in landscape, ballfield, or horticulture maintenance or related fieldBasic computer skills in Microsoft applicationsCertificates, licenses, registrations:Valid driver's licenseThank you for your interest in the position.
