Job description
Nestled on the Central California Coast, Adventist Health Sierra Vista has been providing care to our community since 1959. Our 162-bed acute care facility includes a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and county designated trauma center. San Luis Obispo offers the excitement of a lively community while being a fifteen-minute drive from the serenity of Avila Beach, known for their natural hot springs, and Pismo Beach, known for their sand dunes and eucalyptus trees. Performs specialized examinations of the breast to help in the diagnosis and treatment of breast disease. Performs all required procedures in the department while operating specialized equipment. Acts as a competent clinician who provides clinical care in a skilled and effective manner, utilizing appropriate technical and decision-making skills.
Education and Work Experience:
Experience as a Mammography Technologist: Radiologic Tech (RT) and Mammography Technologist: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists â€" Radiography (ARRT-R): Required
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists â€" Mammography (ARRT-M): Required in OR, Preferred in CA and HI
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Facility Specific License/Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Follows infection control and safety guidelines.
Prepares for and assists the Radiologist in the completion of intricate mammography examinations, including breast biopsies. Produces high quality films for the radiologist to evaluate and completes appropriate documentation.
