APP Manager OpportunityVirginia Oncology Associates, the largest group of medical professionals in Hampton Roads and Northeast North Carolina devoted exclusively to cancer care and blood disorders, has an exciting opportunity for an APP Manager to support APP operations throughout all practice locations.This role is ideal for an Advanced Practice Provider with hematology/oncology expertise, clinical and operational experience in APP services to support a variety of operational and strategic initiatives. The desired candidate for this new position is an APP who is passionate about working in a collaborative and innovative setting and is eager to lead and able to form partnerships at all levels within the organization and community.Leadership & Managerial OversightAssist Director in the implementation of strategic plans and initiatives for the APP workgroupAssist in the development and implementation of APP policies and programsFacilitate an environment promoting professional growth and development and satisfaction in the APP workgroupHandle people management responsibilitiesAssist in the ongoing evaluation of APP utilization, optimization and productivityDemonstrate leadership through site visits and to ensure APP supportRepresent APPs in organizational meetings and committeesOther duties as assignedClinical OversightProvide oversight of clinical performance, including the development and monitoring of quality metrics, best practices and performance improvement initiativesOversees scheduling, workload distribution and resource allocation to ensure efficient and effective operationsCollaborate with practice administrators, physicians and practice leadershipPerform ongoing evaluation, feedback and perform annual performance reviews.Operational & Professional Development OversightLead the recruitment and onboarding of APPs to the practiceDevelop and oversee onboarding, preceptor & mentorship programsImplement orientation and continued education programs for APPsQualificationsMaster's or Doctorate Degree in Physician Assistant studies or Nurse Practitioner studiesAPP (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) licensure requiredAt least 5 years of health care experience required; preference is for experience as an APP in community oncology, or related spaceAt least 1 year of managerial experience preferredAPP with hematology/oncology experience strongly preferred, other specialty experience a plusExcellent verbal/written and organizational skills. Ability to multi-task is a mustExcellent computer skills including: MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, OutlookMust be willing to travelPHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
