Job description
Role: Healthcare Information Services Manager responsible for leading the Health Information Management (HIM) team across multiple sites.
Key Responsibilities
Provide leadership, set policies, and ensure timely, accurate HIM operations.
Develop and implement standards for data content, mapping, and documentation to support quality data and accurate coding for billing.
Investigate data variability issues, monitor reports, and react to ensure departmental goals are met.
Lead the design, training, and evaluation of electronic health records (EHR) to enhance data collection at the point of care.
Oversee abstracting and retrieval of medical data for evaluation, planning, or research.
Facilitate conflict resolution, delegate tasks, and foster a respectful, diverse, and cohesive team environment.
Provide feedback, identify talent, and promote team development and accountability.
Evaluate processes, conduct quality audits, and ensure compliance with regulations.
Manage departmental budget and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor's degree or equivalent; Master's preferred.
Minimum five years of healthcare operations experience, including Cerner system knowledge.
Leadership experience preferred.
Current work authorization in the U.S.
Preferred certifications: Registered Health Information Technician or Administrator.
Essential Functions: Lead daily operations, develop policies, ensure compliance, conduct quality assurance, and manage budgets to deliver high-quality HIM services.
