In this role, you will:

Oversees the day-to-day operations of the Pathologist Assistant Department and establishes guidelines to prioritize work production, evaluate effectiveness and improve the quality of services provided.

Develops and implements laboratory policies, procedures, manuals, continuing education programs and safety initiatives to improve operating efficiency and effectiveness of medical services.

Perform a vital part of the patient care process through preparation, gross description, and dissection of human tissue surgical specimens

Recognize when corrective action is needed and implement effective solutions

Work in a fast-paced laboratory environment with biological and chemical hazards

Champion safety, compliance, and quality control

All you need is:

Master’s degree; Completion of a Pathologist’s Assistant Program accredited by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP).     

ASCP Certification Required.

5 years of supervisory experience

Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills

Ability to operate general laboratory equipment, including but not limited to: telephones, computers, automated analyzers, centrifuges, microscopes, manual and automated pipettes, and audible alarms.
