Our mission is to build innovative, high-quality solutions for the healthcare ecosystem in order to increase practice efficiency and improve patient care. The Manager of Platform Engineering manages the development team responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining such solutions. The incumbent is responsible for building a high-performing web engineering organization that deeply cares about its craft and our customers. As such, the technical leadership, the governance of development activities, and the standards and processes the incumbent will put in place, will drive our web organization forward towards that vision within a fast-paced Healthcare IT company that is truly Modernizing Medicine! This role is HYBRID and requires in office presence three days per week.Your Role:Lead multiple teams of Software Engineers committed to building the next generation of healthcare productsGrow the Software Engineering organization by empowering the engineers and managers and pushing down ownership and accountabilityAlign the Software Engineering organization around our mission, core values, and desired behaviorsEstablish development processes, engineering metrics, and operational guidelines that improve the overall health of the Software Engineering organization through continuous improvementsBe a champion of engineering initiativesEnsure products and releases are delivered on time and with high qualitySkills & Requirements:3+ years of experience managing engineering teams in a web-based application/service environment5+ years of experience with the Agile/Scrum development methodologyExperience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environmentExperience with object-oriented design and SOA based principlesStrong understanding of back-end development using system languages: Java or .NET, Web Services (SOAP & RESTful), and Web/Service-oriented architectureStrong understanding of application lifecycle management tools for source control, continuous integration and deployment, and various areas of testing (unit, integration, load, performance, and vulnerability).Good understanding of application and web server technologiesStrong commitment to quality, architecture, and maintainabilityHighly self-motivated and self-directedExperience with leading engineersGood project management and product lifecycle skillsGreat communicator, collaborator, motivator, and influencerHigh emotional intelligenceExcellent problem-solving skillsAdaptable, proactive, and willing to take ownershipModMed Benefits Highlight: At ModMed, we believe it’s important to offer a competitive benefits package designed to meet the diverse needs of our growing workforce.
